Veteran field maple styled bonsai

 Field maple, Acer campestre, a bonsai styled after a vetran tree of the southern British farmland. Like an acient oak, underwhich the cows, sheep, pigs, and deer have foraged for centuries. Hollowed by rot, damaged by great storms long past, and still full in canopy, reitterated in its full and unimpeded form, again and again after each apparent setback. As the old saying runs: 300 years in the growing, 300 years in the living, 300 years in the dying.

Looking at its best yet after full defoliation earlier this summer.
