Hornbeam bonsai in winter

This is my Carpinus betulus, building ramification will be my continuing objective now that the primary, secondary, and tertiary branches are in place. I will resist wirring it again for at least five years, but judicious pruning and defoliation in early summer will bring it along year by year

Naturalistic oak bonsai with guy wires

In spring I will have to re-apply all these guy wires, as this Quercus cerris needs repotting, I will do so at a new angle (right)... as with all my trees, many years development will be needed for them to look like mature trees; I may have some good looking bonsai by 2020!

Larch bonsai improving

Though I had a vision for this tree from the start, I have on occasion despaired of it ever looking good, but now the branch ramification and tapper are improving I feel more confident, given four or five more years it should look pretty good. The layered roots are staring to mature, still not sure this pot is suitable, but it'll have to do for now!
