European Hornbeam bonsai in Winter

 

This tree started with very definite movement to the right, but as I've built ramification, taper, and movement into the branches, the flow of the tree has transitioned more to the left. Peter Warren (Saruyama Bonsai), who pointed this out when he worked with me recently, suggested I move the planting position somewhat to the right of the pot, a job for spring. I've made some edits to the tree in response to Peter's suggestions and need to build some volume in the upper left canopy. For now, I'll just enjoy the winter image.
