Field or Hedge Maple Bonsai in Winter

Though this Acer campestre had a health knockback earlier this year, a combination of pest attack, secondary fungus, and poor horticulture on my part, it responded well to a full defoliation and now seems in great health. I'll be changing the pot in spring for something very different, I can hardly wait.

This winter I have made some branch edits, and set up the tree for a useful spring flush which will allow me to increase ramification again. I even removed some significant branching to advance the design.

Finally, there is a section of one of the most prominent branches on which I couldn't force back budding, so I've approach grafted some new growth, this should be complete by the autumn of 2021.
